“ಬೆಚ್ಚನೆಯ ಮನೆಯಿರಲು ವೆಚ್ಚಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊನ್ನಿರಲು ಇಚ್ಚೆಯಾನರಿತು ನಡೆವ ಸತಿ ಇರಲು ಸ್ವರ್ಗಕ್ಕೆ ಕಿಚ್ಚು ಹಚ್ಚೆಂದ ಸರ್ವಘ್ನ” is one of the famous saying in Kannada which puts forth the importance of a HOUSE in ones’ life.

Building/construction has come a long way from nomadic life with n number of transformations, to serve the various needs of man.

Linage goes from dens, caves, tree barks for shelter against sun, rain etc. To suit mans’ nomadic life he started building temporary huts with leaves and locally available materials. Thus started the science of construction. Gradual increase in need to have a permanent structure gave way to new innovations such as construction through stones, mud walls, invention of cement, concrete etc.

In today’s life, construction/building plays a major role, not just for residence but also for various other purposes like multistory buildings, warehouses, complexes, production houses and many more.

In a country like India, for a common man it is a dream to build a house within his life time. Also it is a life time investment for a common man.

Being a civil engineer this is my humble approach to give a “Dreamer” all the details pertaining to construction of a house to make his “DREAM COME TRUE.”

I wish this website gives a clear picture of all the materials and methods adopted in construction, thereby helping one to choose the best out of all the alternatives available out there in wide.
